Green and Pleasant Blog covers developments in planning, environmental, housing, animal and other areas of public law and policy. It includes comment pieces on recent judgments, legal explainers, and the occasional topical debate. Run by two pupils at Cornerstone Barristers, it asks how the law can help tackle some of the biggest social and environmental challenges facing the United Kingdom. Since beginning their pupillages, the authors have intended to make their posts less frequent but no less profound.
The green and pleasant bloggers are:
Sam Kharabanda Groom
Sam was a linguist before converting to law. He has worked as a judicial assistant at the Court of Appeal. He is interested in all forms of law relating to animals, all forms of public law, and jurisprudence, and is thrilled when these passions collide. When not trying to distinguish the expository from the censorial, he enjoys music and learning languages.
Lois Lane
Lois has a PhD in medieval history and spent several years working in policy roles in the third sector on a range of housing and planning issues before completing the GDL and the Bar Course. When not helping her supervisor to bring climate-change litigation, she enjoys cycling, hiking, theatre and birdwatching. She is especially interested in planning and environmental law.
